We are currently living in a world where sustainable living is the need of the hour. As the human population is increasing, we are consuming resources at an unprecedented rate and will eventually run out of these limited resources. Even though water covers 70% of the Earth’s surface, every 1 in 9 person lacks access to an improved water source.
Other than being one of the various sustainable development goals listed by the United Nations, access to clean water is imperative. The lack of clean water has clearly had had a large-scale effect and introduced countless other problems in addition. Issues regarding disease as a result of the lack of potable water and the lack of water itself. It has been found that water-borne diseases kill more children under the age of five than malaria, measles, and HIV/AIDS – combined. [www.lifewater.org, 2018]
Living in the city of Mumbai, India where we receive a large quantity of rainfall, yet, we suffer from water shortage. This made us, as a group think about the size and importance of this issue and hence, decided to contribute to the betterment of this very problem. Evaluating possible solutions to improve the condition of this crisis, we looked upon traditional water systems because of the efficiency of these systems.
We plan on introducing and inculcating the use these traditional water systems for the reason that it is so cost-effective, reliable and indeed beneficial. We believe that if we work towards this goal together as one we will achieve this goal of conserving providing safe water to everyone in the future.

this is very well thought out
hope this makes everyone aware
It is very sad that so many people lack a supply of potable water and here, our lust and adequate supply of this vital resource does not make us value it. I strongly agree with Barrels of Blue about traditional systems helping us solve this impending issue. Great initative, keep up the good work!
